We tried booking in at 4 other restaurants on the coast - all of which were fully booked except for Bistro Blanc... and its not hard to see why. Whilst the decor is nice ( appart from the extremely impractcal plates), the service was extremely poor - but the food was a winner for the most disappointing eaten on the Gold Coast. Bernaise sauce was eggy, side salad was wilted with practically no dressing - french fries (which were more like pub chips) tasted like fish from the old oil used to cook them. Will definately not return. Posted 08 Mar 2008 by Raspberryrouge I enjoyed my dining experienced at Bistro Blanc up until it was time to pay the bill. I found that I was overcharged for a glass of Pol. I approached the wait staff and found it perculiar that they all seemed to find it quite amusing. I got the impression that they added it to see whether or not I would pick up on the error. That aside, the food was good. I don't know that I will dine there again on my own volition. I think that there are better offerings on the Coast for such prices. My sister and I both agreed that it seemed like a restaurant that had the potential to be something very special, but has fizzled out.
