Connors were nominated and in the running for best breakfast for 2010 - Personally - if they don't win it this year something is wrong. Staff are lovely, service is great and best of all the food and its prices. Thanks guys and best of luck this year - They certainly deserve it. Something may have been done in regards to the previous reviews - as thumbs up from myself & friends.

The service and the food is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! A freezing cold overcast winters day. The heaters are out on the outside dining area, we ask for one to be turned on while we eat. The waitress obliges. 5 mins later the manager comes over and tells us that we could not possibly be cold and that she has to turn it off. We have to beg for it to be left on, while she makes up a million and one excuses as to why it can't be left on. Then the food comes and it is basically uneatable and extremely expensive. A bowl of chips is basically 10 chips and at $5 a bowl.... We also got accused of being tourists and that was why we were cold when we shouldn't have been. Firstly, we live here, secondly my partner is from Norway, so if he is cold then it is COLD! Very disappointing. Do not go. There is a lovely cafe right next door that serves great food.

Obviously Connors is a very popular eatery (if you determine being packed as good that is), I'm just not sure why. The waitress was rude and unaccommodating, would not listen to any requests, everything was a flat out NO. We waited for the first round of coffees for 1/2 an hour. When our luke warm/ordinary breakfasts eventually arrived all different sizes and unappetising and definitely nothing special. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, it came out cold, flavourless mushrooms and genuinely unappealing. Mine was the best on the table. The pancakes looked more like pikelets a tiny overpriced stack which would fill a small child.... perhaps.... pity they were for an adult, cost as much as a large plate should have and left that particular diner hungry. My sister ordered the corn fritters (she had very little choice as she was unable to have eggs removed from ANY of the other dishes on offer. The lump a foodstuff that was presented to her made us all cringe. The cracked pepper didn’t help. There were other dishes ordered, non worth mentioning. Then the joy of lining up to pay in an overcrowded area, and paying more for this crappy breakfast than I do in my local. Our goal this year is to eat in every Burleigh brekkie joint, this was the first, I sincerely hope it is not the best. I’ll go broke on overpriced underwhelming food.

A terrible disappointment. We have been to Connors several times and overlooked the Managers rudeness and staff's lack of hospitality knowledge purely because the location was convenient. ON one occassion we were asked to leave so our table could be used by waiting guests (my husband still had a coffee coming and friends were still eating! but we left due to the rudeness of it all). On other occassions we have been told to turn the volume down (now we aren't school kids here!) and friends who have spotted us eating and come to chat have been ushered away. We can't take it anymore, do they want patrons or not. ANd in holiday season...don't even expect to get a look at...they only have eyes for tourists. SO much for local loyalty. BTW the best coffee place at Burleigh is at Coffee ROasters on James st, where all staff are friendly and take time to serve you.

We were very disappointed with both the food and attitude of the manager at Connors. Having ordered eggs benedict, the eggs arrived smothered in an insipid, pale sauce which bore no resemblance to hollandaise. Assuming a mistake in the kitchen, we queried with the manager. He assured us that this was the normal offering, saying that it took too long to make proper hollandaise sauce. He was curt and deliberately offensive , calling me "darling" in a put down manner. When I said "please don't call me darling" he rudely replied that I had been unfriendly - I had simply dared to comment that the sauce did not seem to be hollandaise! Obviously he was only open to compliments, not honest feedback. He made us feel very uncomfortable and we will not return. We have enjoyed many excellent egg benedicts on the coast (best to date at the Deck in Currumbin). Connors inferior attempt bears little resemblance to proper eggs benedict.
