A terrible disappointment. We have been to Connors several times and overlooked the Managers rudeness and staff's lack of hospitality knowledge purely because the location was convenient. ON one occassion we were asked to leave so our table could be used by waiting guests (my husband still had a coffee coming and friends were still eating! but we left due to the rudeness of it all).
On other occassions we have been told to turn the volume down (now we aren't school kids here!) and friends who have spotted us eating and come to chat have been ushered away.
We can't take it anymore, do they want patrons or not. ANd in holiday season...don't even expect to get a look at...they only have eyes for tourists. SO much for local loyalty.
BTW the best coffee place at Burleigh is at Coffee ROasters on James st, where all staff are friendly and take time to serve you.

We were very disappointed with both the food and attitude of the manager at Connors. Having ordered eggs benedict, the eggs arrived smothered in an insipid, pale sauce which bore no resemblance to hollandaise. Assuming a mistake in the kitchen, we queried with the manager. He assured us that this was the normal offering, saying that it took too long to make proper hollandaise sauce. He was curt and deliberately offensive , calling me "darling" in a put down manner. When I said "please don't call me darling" he rudely replied that I had been unfriendly - I had simply dared to comment that the sauce did not seem to be hollandaise! Obviously he was only open to compliments, not honest feedback. He made us feel very uncomfortable and we will not return.
We have enjoyed many excellent egg benedicts on the coast (best to date at the Deck in Currumbin). Connors inferior attempt bears little resemblance to proper eggs benedict.

Once in a while you really strike gold. My friends recently introduced me to the joys of Connors Cafe.
Delicious & affordable meals, friendly service, wonderful buzzing atmosphere. Order the hotcakes for breakfast....DO IT!
The only negative I have been able to find is that I always somehow end up seated at the only table without seasonings & condiments on it. The staff are always happy to bring some though. Bring your friends, bring your family, leave a tip...they do such a good job

This cafe has a great vibe, the staff were very friendly and aware, the food was delicious and the selection was excellent, even had plunger coffee. Prices are also reasonable.
Probably as many tables on the pavement as inside, cool breezes and nice ambienece. Well worth a visit any time for a snack or coffee.

This place is a gem! It's really a good little "stroll down" for a late start on a weekend...they serve an all day breakfast and the choices are FANTASTIC...the service is incredibly good, you won't wait very long for your food...once in the dozen or so times we've been there, we waited a long time for our drinks...and I'd have to say drink service, generally, could improve but that's about it...right at the bottom of James Street you can stroll around the book stores and exchanges...really nice "village feel" to this one. A definite
