Went here again last Sunday and had an absolutely lovely meal. My fiance had the filet mignon which was so tender you barely needed to chew it. I had a rib eye steak which was also tender and cooked perfectly. Their beer battered chips and salad were both delicious. Their outdoor area has a lovely atmosphere and I would not hesitate to return.

Have been going for meals here for over 18 months about once every 2 months or so. Went for lunch today and was soooooo disappointed! The menu has changed which would be fine if everything didn't come with bacon! I ordered steak sandwich and it was served as an open sandwich. the first thing I noticed was the rocket lettuce was so wilted, and the "steak" was made up of off cuts of fat and entirely inedible although they tried to disguise this by smothering onion and relish under it. The aoli was non existant. The menu description didnt come close to what was served! My husband ordered the beef burger, the egg had barely touched the hot plate, the beef pattie was rock hard and again the lettuce was wilted so we basically just had the chips that were served on the side. The service from the girls was great, but the food was so horrible we will not be going back. Which is a shame because we used to enjoy our meals there and havent had reason to fault the meals previously. Change your kitchen staff Boathouse Tavern or loose more customers!

Went there on a Sunday for lunch. Haven't been there for ages. Wanted to see how the renovations and food was. no booking but they accomadated the 2 of us. Staff were friendly, but run off there feet. Lots of people there, not enough floor staff and cooks. WaS DISAPOINTED .WAITED FOR 45 min FOR OUr LUNCH. no ENTRESS !! 3 drinks later.!! Food was good, but if your not in any hurry, go for it...The renovations are nice, especially the outdoor area...

Went for lunch recently after avoiding the place for many years. Was very impressed with the renovations and cannot fault the service. Our meals came out super quick, especially considering the amount of other diners present. Certainly a good option for a bite to eat close to home. Will definitely go again.
