As a frequent visitor to Thailand and lover of real Thai food, I can't stand the full of creamy sauce Aussie style Thai places that seem to be everywhere. This place does Thai food better than most. The seating is different but adds to the charm. If you like real Thai food this is a place to visit. Posted 26 Sep 2008 by Critical_Cook My take-away favourite! Basil Thai has the friendliest of waitstaff. Very attentive and not imposing like some waitstaff feel they need to be. The food is also delicious. My favourites are the Thai Green Curry (but choose medium or even mild as it packs quite a punch), the Chilli Basil, and the Spring Rolls. Most meals are between $16 and $22, and it's a good serve of food. Entrees are around $8 each. By the time you've had an entree, one main and jasmine rice for two, you've had a great feed, so it's definately one of the cheaper places to dine on the Gold Coast. If you're adventurous (and don't have a bad back) ask for one of the "upstairs" tables, but don't wear slip off shoes Posted 18 Sep 2007 by kai Really good local Thai restaurant - we like the unusual seating, but there are 'normal tables' as well if you are disabled, elderly, or whatever. Food is excellent - the various flavours in each dish really come through. Prices are also very good. Posted 27 Aug 2007 by khuisman This is a great Thai Restaurant, very traditional. Cute seating where you sit at tables with cushions as seats. Fantastic service and the food is unbelievable.
