After going back to this restaurant a second time, I now understand why there are some negative reviews here. Obviously the customer service is inconsistent and erratic, as our second visit was frustrating and very disappointing. This time they seated us near the entrance, and the trolleys didn't visit us nearly as often as they did the tables in the fuller areas. We had to keep asking for things, and "special order" something as fundamental as steamed dim sims! My Prawn Chang-Fun arrived stone cold, and when I complained about it - instead of bringing me a fresh one, the waiter said "I'll heat it for you". When he returned, it was barely warmer than before! This dish is supposed to be served piping hot and fresh! Not to mention the hygeine risk of serving things at such a low temperature after re-heating. What a let down, after our first excellent visit.

I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews I'm seeing here. My husband and I stumbled upon their Saturday yum cha by accident while shopping at Australia Fair and were seated very quickly. Within the first 10 minutes we had our drinks and already enough food on the table to fill us up! We found the food to be delicously fresh and of high standard. Contrary to some reviews here the customer service was excellent on this day. Coming from a Chinese family who ran an extremely successful Chinese restaurant in South Australia for 20 years, and having eaten at many of the best Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong, I can say the standard here stacks up pretty well - at least it did that day! Like most typical Chinese restaurants its not a five-star, fine dining experience so dont expect to find polished cutlery on the table. Just a jolly good feed!

My family and i have eaten here more times than i can remember. We always dine for lunch and find the yum cha better than most on the gold coast but certainly not the best. Yum cha staples like har gow, sui mai, sui kok, chee cheong fun, satay calamari and most of the rest are all delicious and fresh providing its busy. Customer service is a bit of a let down, generally trolleys will take random routes and dont have consistant service of all customers, waiters and waitresses dont consciously look at tables to see if more food is required and orders for drinks or sauces and magically vanish. The decor is nice, however the finer details of the place are rough eg, dirty silicon around fishtanks, sticky tape holding wallpaper on to the wall, sometimes if we're lucky we get a patched table cloth. Plates and cutlery are always clean. Top one offers decent value for money in regards to quality, portion size and a consistent level of service.

this is one of the worst yum cha restaurants on the coast. The hygiene of the place does not feel good, marks on the tablecloths, chairs ripped, and the stacking of cutlery on tables didnt seem safe to me. The food is nowhere near the standard i would expect from such a busy restaurant. Just because it is busy, doesnt mean it is good. The service was very slow, the same carts of food were coming back to us ten minutes after they had already shown us. All in all, i would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Cant believe people are saying it is the best on the coast. It is nowhere near the best. Sorry....

The Yum Cha here is very good - one of the best on the Gold Coast. Sometimes it gets very busy, but they issue you with a numbered ticket and the wait is never very long. Service is quick with many trollies coming around.
