This is a case of "Deja Vu".
Visited this cafe recently for breakfast & have the same criticism as Foodlover6!
I had an omelette which was overcooked & poorly presented.
My partners eggs benedict was described as "most enjoyable".
It certainly is a local meeting place, but usually this indicates good quality food where people enjoy the experience.
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the experience on this occassion.

I recently went to Barchino for my birthday breakfast. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I enjoyed the atmosphere and it seems to be a very popular place to go for brekky. The breakfast menu listed some lovely options, although to be honest my omelette was very ordinary - a little burnt on the outside and quite plain tasting. I asked for a mushroom, cheese and chicken omelette and it had a heap of mushrooms but barely any cheese or chicken. Another person at my table also ordered an omelette and was equally as disappointed. However, my other guests really enjoyed their meals such as The Lot and Eggs Benedict.

We've been here a few times and we've never walked away anything but satisfied...it's been fantastic and it's been satisfactory (at worst). Generally, the menu isn't as interesting or adventurous as I'd like but what they do, they do fairly well. There's not much on the menu that I haven't made myself. The service is friendly and efficient, the ambience is a little "chaotic" when busy but when they're quiet it's a little better.

I absolutely loved Barchino! I had been there for breakfast on a few occasions and their menu is awesome. Everything tastes fantastic and the service was lovely. Since then, I have been back for coffee and cake countless times. The mud cake (ever so slightly warmed, mmm) is unbelievable! As is the choc chip chunk cheesecake! Since I was so impressed I returned for dinner for my birthday and shared a 2 person seafood platter. A combination of hot and cold seafood... sensational. The bread with balsamic, olive oil and goats cheese was is also highly recommended. The owners are just lovely and the staff great! What an allrounder of a place - well done!

We dined here one night a few months back and to be quite honest the menu was ordinary, food tasted very ordinary, service was uninformed and bordering on disinterested. It seems to be more of a 'hang out during the day' type of place where you go for coffe and cake. And speaking of cakes - I'm sorry - but I'm SO tired of seeing 'dessert cabinets' with their tired-looking 'brought in' captives.......
