The staff are always scary & dirty looking, the meal sizes have shrunk significantly. I have found foreign contaminants in 2 meals there ( a piece of scourer and a staple...yes a staple in a steak) The food there is cheap for a reason. The place is full of seedy old drunks & bikers too, I would never take kids there. Do yourself a favor & go to the clock hotel instead...more or less the same price for beautiful big pub meals & quality food & service Posted 06 Aug 2007 by batmanuel This place is excellent value for money. We went for the 2 for 1 lunch deals, and they are really hard to beat. A massive veal schnitzel, with nice mushroom gravy, a whole heap of chips and a nice salad. All for $10! (or 2 for $20 as the case may be). This definitely beats out most of the other pub meals going around the Coast (in particular the Benowa Tavern is bad bad bad) for both cost and taste. And when you can sit outside and have a beer and watch the Chevron Island goings-ons, the atmosphere isn't too bad either.
