My wife and I went to Ashmore Rd Steak and Seafood on 22nd December 2009 as a last minute decision for dinner on the recommendation from friends, so we a viriginsn to this place. We are fussy diners and are willing to pay for good quality food. We were greeted at the waiting area by an older male who we assumed may be the owner. We greeted with a friendly smile and was responded with rudeness and was quick to drag us through to a table. The free garlic bread which was tasteless and soggy (hence free). When the bugs arrived, the presentation was not inviting, though the quantity was of some value. The taste of the bugs was bland (though fresh) as is with the salad which looked and tasted like coleslaw. Thank God we not order entree. Total bill of $101 including one beverage each which is steep compared to places like Georges Seafood paragon in Sanctuary Cove which comes with quality, atmosphere and service. So all in all it resembles an over priced all you can eat venue. (the 2 star is for the freshness of the bugs).

There is so much talk up about this place its not funny , so when we decided to go there, we were so disapointed. I think everybody is dazzled by the free garlic bread , which is dry and tasteless . For this type of food, the prices are ridiculous , they are selling pub food for more than pub food prices , actually i take that back , saying it is pub food is a compliment to them .i laughed when i walked through the door , at the decor , maybe this place could go as a "back in the 70's restaurant" geez if so many people love this overpriced rubbish, why dont the owners put some money into refurbishment? Oh and one last thing if i wanted to eat my food off a surgical plate i would go to the hospital!

There should be a zero star rating. Places like this should be shut down. If you are an obese loser you might like it here. If you actually like food you would get greater satisfaction eating out of a garbage truck than eating here.

Not sure how this place got a good reputation.Maybe I'm missing something. Both I and the people I dined with found the service poor and the meals ridiculously overpriced.A little less chips and a bit more steak and seafood thanks.Won't be going back again

We have been regulars of this restaurant for the past five years since moving to the suburb. Twice a month, we as a family go there, as it is good value for money. The food and service is fantastic. Not any more! We went back to this restaurant on Saturday 04/04/09 after a 3 month break and received the worst service you could ever encounter. 5 mins we waited to be greeted and seated, only to be ignored so they could greet the 2 bus loads of Asian tourists standing behind us. What the hell? Shame on you Ashmore Rd Steak & Seafood. Tourists over regulars! You have just lost our $300 p/mth. Word of mouth is a very powerful advertising tool and it will be used. What a shame.
