My wife and I have dined at the Woodchoppers since the good old days (ie.15 odd years) and consider ourseleves 'regulars'. We would have to agree with most of the other reviews and say that it is nowhere near up to the same standards as it used to be. We knew the old owners well and they did a fantastic job at making their guests feel welcome and we always enjoyed our meals. We have tried the restaurant 4 or 5 times since the new people have taken it over and sadly each time it was apparent that the style of the place has gone downhill dramatically. Not only is there no atmosphere, (on our last visit there was no music of any kind), but most disappointingly on each visit our meals were very, very ordinary in fact some of them have been downright awful. We have given the new owners a good chance but there are too many other restaurants on the Coast for us to bother visiting the Woodchoppers again. It is such a shame as this was once a special place.

I have dined at the woodchoppers inn for the past 16 years and I can honestly say it has only got better with time, the staff are always friendly and caring. The Inn is not a PUB it has a Bar and a Restaurant. The food is superb and the service is fantastic. For those who dont dine their often all restuarants have their off days and possibly the split the bill promotion is the only reason you have been there, experienced diners i think not!

My husband and I have dined at the Woodchoppers many times over the years and always found it to be a lovely place. Unfortunately our last two visits in January and June 2010 were very disappointing. The size and standard of our meals were extremely disappointing and vastly different to what we have experienced in the past. On our last visit our meals were positively awful and my husbands plate came out dirty! It is such a shame as this was once a favourite place of ours to go out for a meal. We won't be going back again.

$30 for a steak AND it's extra if you want any vegetables or a sauce - what a rip off! We might pay that much in Broadbeach but not at a PUB in Mudgeeraba. This place needs to seriously look at their prices, no wonder they were empty.......

As sent to the Gold Coast Bulletin Newspaper 13/06/10 - Good on the Gold Coast Bulletin, we are loving your split the bill promotion! At this time of the year restaurants are doing it tough and so promotions like this create a win win situation for restaurants as well as diners like us. Last year and again this year, we visited a number of local restaurants that we would normally never have tried using your special tokens. Almost everywhere that we've dined has been great however, a small few like the Woodchoppers Inn, Mudgeeraba have been a bitter disappointment. When will places like this realise that no matter what gimmicks they use to get customers in we are not going to return to a place with non-existent service and poor quality food. It makes one wonder if these places really want our business or if service with a smile and a decent quality meal is just too much hard work.
