My husband and I together with a group of friends dined here a couple of nights ago and none of us were at all impressed. To begin with we were grossly mislead with their advertisment claiming 'family friendly prices'. Since when does $32 for steak and vege constitute 'family friendly'??? This is not only false advertising but our meals offered nowhere near value for money. If we had wanted to spend the sort of money they were asking (which we do regularly and are happy to do) then we would have gone to a restaurant and not a dingy pub. The service was fine - certainly not polished but our waitress tried and was friendly. The food, on the other hand was dismal. Aforementioned over pricing aside, I can honestly say none of us were impressed with our meals. Some dishes were bland, some over cooked and one of our friends found a lovely big piece of plastic in their dinner! Needless to say we won't be going back here and I daresay the word will get around. May I recommend that the new management get to work and sort out their advertising, their kitchen and their prices? Food too expensive for what you get and service just not up to par. Posted 21 Mar 2011 by champagne queen we enjoyed our meal, but was way overpriced and all of our table agreed they needed some cheaper options.entertainment was good, there was a duo playing but it was a long way from dining area and was impossible to hear as there was a football match on tv between us and music they need to reararrange put tv where entertainment is??? Live music would have made our dining experience much better. and if only they had some cheaper options as it is not exactly silver service......... Posted 14 Mar 2011 by Wickhams I read that Woodchoppers Resturant was under new management so decided I would have Dinner to see what changes have been made! Nothing has changed - The Chef continue's to work with the same menu he has had in place for over 10 years. The food is average and very over priced. I have never minded paying for good food and service but I find it a little primitive eating off a wooden table with a paper napkin and paying silver service prices. Posted 12 Mar 2011 by Broady-Girl I have dined at The Woodchoppers Inn many times over the last few years. Their staff are friendly and the food is always very good. I have also worked in the hospitaity industry for many years and can smell a smear campaign a mile away - I wonder how many of these negative reviews that have all come within a month of each other have come from the same IP address? I do not work at the Woodchoppers, nor have I ever worked there, but I am pretty sure that a large number of these so-called "honest" bad reviews would either be from competitors or someone with an axe to grind - whatever the case, you should be ashamed of yourself!
