We really loved Ace about 3 to 4 years ago. It was aklways busy and the food was really gopd. Unfourtunately - not so good these days. Many better sushi places around.

i am a sushi inspector and rater and have inspected all sushi train restaurants on the gold coast. Ace wasabi's has always exceeded my expectations and is the only sushi place that satisfies my taste. Their friendly staff are ALWAYS willing to chat with me even though their english skills are limited. I don't know what Goldie is talking about where he/she says that they use rice rolling machines to make their rice. The rice as i have seen is hand rolled with ultra care. You should look at their fresh calved whole salmon or tuna or snapper being cut in front of your eyes. Its so delicious as well I would recommend everyone, children, adults and the elderly to come visit this sushi place. There are two shops i have seen one in Chevron Island and one in Mermaid Waters.

My family are the big fans of Ace Wasabis sushi restaurant for last 4 years. My boy and my girl love their Ace Wasabi roll and Kamikaze roll. ears.My friends from sydney came last week and dined in with us.They were so impress with the food and service which are much better than many others in Sydney. All the boys that work there should be very proud of themself. Keep up your good work guys.

I too have noticed that this sushi place has dropped their standards. They now use rice rolling machines insted of making the sushi from hand and the sushi doesn't hold together as well as it used to. My 6 pieces were all cut to different lengths. They also no longer provide wasabi in jars and you have to get it from little packets going around on the train. I'm just disappointed as this used to be my favourite sushi place on the Gold Coast. I might as well get sushi from the food courts at shopping centres and pay a lot less.

I usually go to Bermuda street Ace Wasabi and was a bit let down by Chevron island. The tekka maki tuna on rice was a bit skimpy and there wasn't much attention to detail to the other plates. I do love my sushi but thought it wasn't good value as it needs to be a bit fresher.
