Over the past 3 years i have been eating at least once a week at the anglers arms hotel. It has always offered great value for money but the food hasnt always been that good. In the last 6 months the food has improved out of site, a new menu was introduced recently and the chef seems to have taken the food taste and quality to a new level, whilst still maintaining great value for money. I recently ate out at a very expensive resaurant and had a steak that was no where near as good as the ones i get at the anglers for half the price. the wednesday offer of buy a main get the second for $5.00 is excellent. i recommened anyone living in or visiting southport give this pub a go.

Angler's Arms is my grandparents local pub. And being the good grandson I am, I have dinner with them there quite a lot. The food is your typical pub fare, and it's pretty good value for money. They have a selection of $10 specials which are great for the oldies or students. The service is always fast and attentive although you have to go and order your food and drinks from the bar area. The mains are usually under $20 and generally come with chips and salad. They have a nice variety of steaks between $20-$28 and these are usually pretty good. Sometimes the fish can seem to be freshly defrosted and some of the meals seem a bit mass produced. Still, it is a pub and you get what you pay for.
