I have to agree that you get value for money here. We tried some of the set menus & shared them. 'A' set for $17.50 - 3 Gyoza, Chicken teriyaki, miso soup & rice. 'C' set $25 - 2 spring rolls, Gingered pork, deep fried chicken, miso soup & rice. We were completely full after this. My husband who loves pork and ginger was disappointed in that the 'pork' was paper thin long slices of what looked like some type of 'pressed' meat - it didn't taste of pork nor look like it - very strange indeed. Not expecting to like the chicken teriyaki, it turned out to be his favourite dish on the night. Would we visit again? Yes, indeed. I really wanted to try the Agedashi Tofu which for me is the litmus test for Japanese Restaurants but I just couldn't have squeezed it in! Smiling young staff rounded out a pleasant night.

Great food, have eaten there almost a dozen times and the food is always of a great quality.
service is good (not excellent) and the seating is ok.
However for a group of friends with some BYO wine (they don't serve alcohol) its a great night for some fresh food and a great menu to choose from.

I would have to agree: we tried Hibari for the first time last week, and were blown away by the value for money, and the quality of the food: it was exceptional! Service was also excellent, and we had no language barrier issues! The dishes are all of a very generous size, and everything we ordered was fantastic. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis!

This restaurant is amazing! So cheap but premium meals. Good sized serves. Our family of 4 eats for $50 or so dollars or 2 of us eat up a storm for $35 or $40.
Don't expect great english out of the staff (who've all become loveable friends to our family) as they're all asian.
You must try
edimame (suck the soya beans out of the shell)
gyoza (pan fried dumplings)
I also love the agadashi tofu, chicken cashu, chicken teryaki, steak teryiaki, the katsudon, duck ramen soup (amazing).
Try all you can eat sukiyaki for fun and its delish.
