VERY DISAPPOINTED! Will never go there again. We were up that way so we thought we would try the 'half price menu' which is not that great. I ordered BBQ prawns on a bed of rice.. when recieved it was less than appealing. I ate 3 prawns and with each one it got more and more gritty and fishy tasting. The waiter saw I was not eating yet did not say anything. When it came to clear the table he asked how the meal was - I said that it was terrible, gritty and with each prawn it was getting worse. His reply was 'oh ok, have you had prawns before?' Are you kidding me!? He left us and I thought he would come back with the bill and say he would at least give me 10% off... NOTHING was discounted! The waiter could not have cared less! Very overpriced meals and wines! the best part was leaving! Never again!

Hi love Sanctuary cove restaurant. So Hubby and i thought we will try the one up Mt Tamborine. Well The staff are Polite, but the service was so slow!! We were really disapointed how long we had to wait for our entrees and then our main meal.It just took to long and you could see lots of people just sitting there wandering when there food or drinks were coming. It was a sunday and we were there for lunch. When we arrived it wasnt packed at the time. But after finally finishing our meals( around 1 and half hours) ! it was packed. The food is still good quaility like at Sanc cove. But i wont be going there again...To slow!!!

Every person i have ever bought to this restuarant has come back time and time again. This is a must for anyone visiting the Goldcoast. They do a half priced lunch menu which is well worth the drive. The dinner menu is pricey, but the food is to die for. The Seafood Chowder is one of the best i've ever tasted and the BBQ Octopus is a taste sensation. Don't get this restuarant confused with the one in southport, i raved about the soup and we went there and it's was a sad imitation of the one at Sanctuary Cove. They only do a first booking for lunch so if you are in a big group try to get a first booking as it can get quite busy over the weekends and the cue gets quite long. Obviously my experience differs from annonamus, i have only eaten at southport once with friends and was dissappointed as i felt it wasn't as good as the one in Sanctuary Cove. The View over the water in Sanctuary Cove is beautiful, this restuarant is better positioned than the one in southport which overlooks the highway.

Attended Georges Sanctuary Cove for lunch with parents. OK so the lunches are 1/2 price and maybe I couldn't afford it at the full rate. BUT if you just accept what you are receiving for the price then I rate it as extremely good value. These are not Cafe or pub meals, they are restaurant quality. Four different meals were ordered and all came together within 15 minutes of ordering (on a very hot plate). The wait staff were polite without being overbearing. And you know the staff are doing their job when your glasses of water are refilled without having to ask. At most restaurants when you attend a 1/2 price lunch meals are normally about entree size. Not so here. All meals were full size. In all, a very pleasant experience and we will definately be returing.

In early June, a group of friends went to George's Paragon in Kingscliff for a bday dinner. we're all local and like to support our local restaurants. unbeknown to us the restaurant is licensed. we had our own wine and just before our meals arrived the acting manager approached the table quite loudly and abruptly and told us the restaurant was not byo and that we would be charged for corkage, we agreed that would be fine and thought that was the end of that. he approached us again 10 mins or so later and then repeated his statement re the corkage. we said that we understood this the first time and that it was not necessary for him to tell us again and that he was embarrasing the table by being so rude re the matter, he was very aggressive and continued to carry on about how WE should have asked and went on and on. the whole table was absolutely stunned at his behaviour. even the waitress who was embarrassed apologised to us. 3 people from that night ended up going to him seperately to try and sort out why he was being so rude to our table over such a simple misunderstanding. he carried on saying he was thrown in and they werent doing well. 2 people from the table didnt eat their dinner as they were so upset, another was in tears and the birthday person felt so badly they ended up paying for the whole bill. it was terrible and we will never go back there ever again.
