Gold Coast Restaurants

Gold Coast Food Guide, Gold Coast Restaurants

Gold Coast restaurants, Gold Coast dining - Gold Coast Food Guide is a restaurant and food guide for the Gold Coast.

I spend a fair amount of my discretionary income on dining out. I love discovering a new restaurant that serves up great food and has excellent service to match and I’m happy to try out both cheap and fine dining restaurants because hey, I can’t afford to eat out at posh restaurants all the time!

This is the great thing about Gold Coast Food Guide - I’m discovering new restaurants, pubs, bakeries, fish and chip shops - you name it through the recommendations of other people reviews on the site. It’s also been interesting to note that the vast majority of the reviews have been very positive quickly dispelling the expectation of my friends that most people would only want to write a review when they’ve had a negative dining experience.

Anyway here are some of my favourite Gold Coast restaurants and providores:

Ace Wasabi’s Sushi Place - Mermaid Waters
Sheraton Hotel Terraces Buffet - Main Beach
Top One Seafood Chinese Restaurant - Southport (great for yum cha)
Peters Fish Market - Main Beach (great for buying seafood as you can choose it yourself)
Champagne Brasserie - Broadbeach
Tandoori Place - Broadbeach
Rossini Italian Restaurant - Broadbeach
Boonchu Thai Food - Broadbeach
Asian Grocery Store at Q Super Centre - Mermaid Waters
Manolas Brothers Delicatessen - Main Beach
Yuen’s Fruit Shop - Mermaid Waters

Welcome to our blog for Gold Coast Food Guide

Gold Coast Food Guide

Welcome to the first blog post on GC Food Guide!

The idea for this website came one day after moving back to the Gold Coast from Melbourne.  Most Melbournians own or at least are familiar with the hugely popular Cheap Eats and Good Food Guide books that are published annually by the Age. These food guide books help you to uncover some fantastic dining venues hidden down alley ways, behing garbage bins and make you visit places you normally wouldn’t go near.

After moving back to the Gold Coast I tried to find something similar to tell me where to find the best restaurants (both cheap and fine dining) were and the only book I could find one published by the Courier Mail which covered Brisbane with only a few of the top fine dining restaurants on the Gold Coast featured.

Flicking through the local newspapers I soon discovered that a lot of the ‘reviews’ were advertorials -published only when a restaurant placed an ad in the paper therefore they were hardly unbiased.

I hope that Gold Coast Food Guide will fill this gap for the Gold Coast and provide locals and tourists with the truth on where best to dine and where to get the greatest produce.

I look forward to reading your comments & opinions on this blog!
