Eumundi Markets
Noosa, Markets September 2nd, 2007I made sure I woke up early on Saturday morning to get to the Eumundi markets which are held every Wednesday and Saturday.
I left my boyfriend in Noosa to hang at the beach for the morning so I could take my time browsing. The markets are about a 20 minute drive from Noosa and parking was pretty easy to find, it just costs $4. There wasn’t a huge deal of food though, mainly just art, pottery, clothes etc. There were quite a few places to eat ranging from donuts to paella, stir fry and german sausages. I picked up a really thick chopping board for only $20 and a little hand painted turkish print bowl which i’ll use to put sea salt in for on the dining table.
Location: Memorial Drive, Eumundi
The Eumundi markets - this shaded section is really nice
This is one seriously big paella pan! It was still early about 9:30am so I wasn’t up for any paella but it looked and smelled really yummy.
The Portuguese/Spanish food stall which sold things like Portuguese custard tarts for $2.50 and peri peri chicken and yoghurt for $6 which was dished out from funky looking copper pots.
Mmm… home made chocolates, fudge and lollies
What market is complete without a bratwurst or weiswurst? There was another German sausage tent who also sold pretzels.
Getting into the alternative vibe by watching barefoot marimba players. They were pretty amazing though and drew a huge crowd.

That’s not actually a paella pan. It’s a wok - looks more like an Asian dish to me. A paella pan HAS to be almost flat bottomed. I bet a Spanish person would have a fit!
